Petition in Support of Hampshire Staff, Faculty and Students
Over the past several weeks, the MSP has been in close contact with faculty members at Hampshire College, including their chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP). We have expressed solidarity and offered support as they face a dire situation. We are talking with the other UMass unions and writing joint statements of support as well. We have also talked with our own administration and received reassurance that our MSP members who have partial appointments at Hampshire College will not be harmed. Events are moving quickly and Hampshire faculty and staff have promised to keep in close contact with us as events unfold. At this time, they have asked for a letter of support. Several MSP members wrote the statement of support to be signed by as many UMass faculty and librarians as possible.
