MSP Contract

2009-2012 CONTRACT

MSP and FSU (our sister chapter on the Boston campus) ratified a successor 3-year agreement on March 6, 2009 which called for on-base salary increases of 1.5% (effective 5 July 2009), 3.5% (effective 4 July 2010) and 3.5% (effective 2 July 2011).  We worked hard to secure funding without success.  In January 2010, Governor Patrick demanded that the unions re-enter bargaining and accept a concession package that delays the effective dates of our raises by 364 days in each year of the contract.  Backed into a corner, we were forced to accept Patrick's package.  Raises under the new agreement are now amended as follows:

  • 1.5% salary increase (effective June 30, 2010) -- All Across The Board (ATB)

  • 3.5% salary increase (effective June 30, 2011) -- 2.25% ATB/1.25% Merit (covers work performed in Academic Years 2006-2007 and 2007-2008)

  • 3.5% salary increase (effective June 30, 2012) -- 2.25% ATB/1.25% Merit (covers work performed in Academic Years 2008-2009 and 2009-2010)

Funding for this new package is now being secured.  All other features of the contract are in full force and effect at this time.

Final language of the 2009-2012 contract is now available (see below).  Please also see the Memorandum of Agreement outlining the changes to the salary article.
