1. New tenure-track faculty (as well as tenure-track faculty who arrived in the last couple of years) will be guaranteed a “research intensive” semester (i.e. no teaching responsibilities) before their tenure decision year.

2. The College of Humanities and Fine Arts will be the first college to initiate the program – this year -- followed by the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences and several more over the next two years. By the end of our three-year contract, the program will have been set in place for all colleges.

3. Faculty will have to show they have applied for external funding for their research, and will participate in Center for Teaching grants and programs.

4. Faculty are expected to be on campus, although we insisted that depending on their research and the stage it is at, faculty may need to leave campus for some or all of the term.
