June 2 Informational Picketing at the Governor's speech - Volunteers needed

Description:
Monday June 2nd 5:00 pm: Picketing Governor at Framingham State; carpool & dinner provided!

I said I would need your help to get a fair contract, and now is the time.

I need MSP members to participate in informational picketing at Framingham State College, Monday, June 2 at 5 pm, where the Governor will be unveiling his Readiness Project recommendations. We will arrange carpools; we will provide dinner afterwards; and we guarantee the good feeling that comes with fighting for fair contracts! This is a coalition effort of all the higher education unions within the MTA, and it is very important that MSP - your union of faculty and librarians at the flagship campus - be there in force.

While we have made some progress on local issues at the bargaining table, the contracts remain in limbo because the Governor has not yet authorized any - much less fair and equitable - monetary offers to us. It is nearly June and our contract ends on June 30. We are calling on the Governor to immediately authorize the university's bargaining officials to offer real cost of living increases, so that no one doing their job takes a pay cut.

Please call 413-545-2206 or email the MSP office to let me know that you will be joining me there.

Classes are over, grades are in; kids are still in school. There is no excuse not to help secure good contracts.

Max Page, MSP President
