Dear MSP Members,

I want to urge you all to attend Founders Day on campus tomorrow to celebrate UMass, but also to let the Governor know that a great university is built on great faculty and staff, fairly compensated. Most of you have taken some version of a pay cut over the past four years, as inflation has eclipsed the “cost of living” increases in our contracts. That has to end. Let the Governor hear you: No More Pay Cuts!

And we have to let UMass President Jack Wilson know that he’s not off the hook either – many of our contract demands (including the policy on sabbaticals, phased retirement, the 250 Plan, and others) are wholly decided by the administration’s bargaining team and do not depend on the Governor.

Come by the MSP Office in Hampshire House starting at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, so we can give you materials to share with people who attend the celebrations.
